The North Moore Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 65-50 bruising from Cummings. North Moore has struggled against Cummings recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why North Moore lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colby Pennington. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Copeland, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Leading Cummings to victory were Ja'Kway Robertson and Ja'Kari Dobbins. Robertson scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, while Dobbins dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dobbins has scored all season. Kobie Stadler was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
North Moore has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Cummings, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
North Moore will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeast Alamance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Alamance is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Cummings, they will head out on the road to face off against Seaforth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
