The New Brighton Lions won the last time they faced the Western Beaver Golden Beavers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. New Brighton secured a 49-43 W over Western Beaver. The win made it back-to-back wins for New Brighton.
Despite the loss, Western Beaver saw an underclassman step up: Nathan Schwarz scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chantz Cottrill, who scored ten points.
The win got New Brighton back to even at 2-2. As for Western Beaver, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
New Brighton will head out on the road to face off against Ellwood City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ellwood City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. Western Beaver will be home for the holidays to greet Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
