Lakewood and Chatfield are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Lakewood Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chatfield Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood is out to stop a 15-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Lakewood had to suffer through a rough 61-11 loss at the hands of Ralston Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lakewood has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Lakewood had strong showings from Dyani Parrish, who scored seven points along with two steals, and Tessa Sanders, who scored two points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lakewood struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Chatfield suffered a rough 61-38 defeat at the hands of ThunderRidge on Saturday. Chatfield has struggled against ThunderRidge recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Chatfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Lakewood took a serious blow against Chatfield when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 61-19. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lakewood was down 36-13.
