The South Laurel Cardinals waltzed into their game Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 62-52 win over Marshall County.
Jordan Mabe was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. The match was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Rawlings, who scored 12 points.
South Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Marshall County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Laurel will take on Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harlan is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Marshall County, they will head out on the road to face off against Hopkinsville at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Hopkinsville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
