The Sumner Spartans put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Curtis at home to the tune of 90-6. Considering Sumner has won eight matches by more than 25 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Lainee Houillon, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shameela Isabell, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Sumner pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.2 points per game. As for Curtis, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sumner will take on Puyallup at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Puyallup is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Curtis, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. Olympia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Curtis in Washington (Olympia is ranked 94th, while Curtis is ranked 236th).
