The St. Anthony's Friars waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 54-42 win over Kellenberg Memorial. That's two games straight that St. Anthony's has won by exactly 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Anthony's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Moore, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Welling, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
St. Anthony's has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Kellenberg Memorial, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-1.
St. Anthony's will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gaels at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. Iona Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Friars in New York (the Gaels are ranked 19th, while the Friars are ranked 137th). As for Kellenberg Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against the Gaels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in St. Mary's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
