Dillon and Loris are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Dillon Wildcats take on the Loris Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Dillon is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Scott's Branch two weeks ago. Dillon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Scott's Branch.

Ayonna Lester put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 8 of 17 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those 19 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Khwnylahi Mckinnon, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points in addition to six assists and five boards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Loris, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 victory over Marion two weeks ago.
Dillon better focus on containing Janiya Richburg and Dazena Capers as the pair were huge in Loris' win. Richburg dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 boards, while Capers went 8 of 13 on her way to 19 points. Richburg is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janyshia Brown, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Loris smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.
Dillon's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Dillon has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Loris struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Dillon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Loris in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Will Dillon repeat their success, or does Loris have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
