Each week during the season (regular and post), there will be a fan-generated contest to tab weekly winners. Each winner receives an award patch for their varsity jacket and a digital badge (below) on their MaxPreps player page.
How does it work? Nominees are selected from statistics submitted on MaxPreps. Coaches who do not have current access may request their free account here. Weekly finalists are released on MaxPreps every Tuesday and voting is conducted in a special poll. Voting ceases at noon on Mondays. The winners (2 per week) are announced the next day along with the next week's nominees.

Week 12 Ohio High School Athletes of the Week
* Caden Calhoun, Johnstown-Monroe FootballSenior quarterback carried the ball 14 times for 206 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-7 regional semifinal win over Bellaire.
* Sam Snow, Holy Name (Parma Heights) VolleyballJunior
outside hitter 34 kills and 31 digs as the Green Wave won the D-II
state title with wins over Fenwick (semifinal) and Hartley (final).
Week 13 Ohio High School Athlete of the Week Nominees
* Nathan Bruns, Marion Local (Maria Stein) Football
Senior quarterback and Findlay basketball recruit threw for 287 yards and threw touchdowns and also ran for a score as the Flyers avenged a regular season loss with a 40-19 regional final win over Coldwater.
* Collin Moore, Fort Loramie Football
Sophomore quarterback ran for 124 yards and four touchdowns and also threw for a touchdown in a 48-20 regional final win over Convoy Crestview.
2018 Ohio High School Football Statewide Stat Leaders
* DJ Ruffing, Seneca East (Attica) Football
Senior receiver/defensive back caught the game-winning 29-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Chase Foos with 24 seconds left and then sealed the victory with an ensuing interception as the Tigers advanced to the state semifinals for the first time ever with a 26-21 regional final win over Fairview.
* Mitch Okuley, Olentangy Liberty (Powell) Football
Senior quarterback and Ohio State baseball commit completed 13 of 17 passes for 172 yards and rushed for 66 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries in a 21-7 regional final win over Dublin Coffman.
2018 Ohio High School Volleyball Statewide Stat Leaders
* Brian Adkins, Fort Frye (Beverly) Football
Sophomore defensive back led an opportunistic defense (five interceptions) with two picks and returned one 44-yards for a touchdown as the Cadets won their first ever regional title with an 18-6 win over Shadyside.
* Connor Mclaughlin, Licking Valley (Newark) Football
Senior running back carried the ball 27 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns (all in first half) as the Panthers ousted previously undefeated St. Clairsville 30-0 in a regional final.
2018 Ohio High School Boys Soccer Statewide Stat Leaders
* Marquael Parks, Orrville FootballSophomore running back carried the ball 16 times for 222 yards and four touchdowns as the Red Riders avenged a regular season loss with a 43-19 win over Manchester in a regional fall. Parks has rushed for 2,388 yards and scored 49 total touchdowns this season.
* Mark Waid, Girard FootballSenior quarterback carried the ball 27times for 348 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 111 yards and a touchdown in a 43-18 regional final win over Hubbard.
