Arbor View has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Coronado Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Arbor View is ranked 30th, while the Cougars are ranked 13th).
On Monday, Arbor View lost to the Mustangs at home by a decisive 60-41 margin. Arbor View has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Coronado took a serious blow against the Blue Knights on Monday, falling 64-33. Coronado has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Coronado saw an underclassman step up: Ella Creer scored seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Gabrielle Brooks, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Arbor View has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
Things could have been worse for Arbor View, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-39 loss to the Cougars in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Arbor View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
