This season hasn't been kind to the Bonita Springs Bullsharks, who are still winless after their 19th match. They took a hard 81-67 fall against Gateway on Friday. While losing is never fun, Bonita Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 765th, while Gateway is ranked 115th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gateway to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nehemiah Clermont, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clermont has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Leopold, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Bonita Springs dropped their record down to 0-19 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Gateway, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonita Springs will challenge Oasis at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oasis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Gateway, Gateway and Lehigh will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lehigh has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 235 points over their last three games.
