After soaring high against Bunkie two weeks ago, Icarus fell to the ground last week. Avoyelles took a hard 6-21 fall against Holy Savior Menard. Avoyelles got a solid performance out of senior Marquis Alexander, who rushed for 131 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Welsh and Loreauville. Welsh put a hurting on Loreauville to the tune of 55-6. With Welsh ahead 41-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Welsh's victory lifted them to 2-1 while Avoyelles's defeat dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Welsh can add another positive mark to their record or if Avoyelles can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Welsh's step.
