The Winfield Generals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Hurricane as Winfield made off with a 59-37 victory. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Winfield as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Winfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaitlyn Sayre out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Sayre scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Willard, who scored 18 points.
Winfield now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hurricane, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winfield will face off against Sissonville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sissonville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Hurricane, they will head out on the road to square off against Huntington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Huntington is ranked 49th, while Hurricane is ranked 38th).
