The Georgetown G-Men's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Blanchester Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. Hopefully Georgetown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Georgetown ultimately got the result they hoped for. They snuck past Clermont Northeastern with a 57-51 victory.
Emily Bertram was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Ernst, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Blanchester had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against New Richmond by a score of 49-40 on Saturday. That looming 49-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Blanchester yet this season.
Georgetown's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Blanchester, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-12.
Georgetown strolled past Blanchester in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 57-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Georgetown since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
