Two dominant in Jamison Fox and James Steward are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Arcadia Titans will be playing at home against the Marcos de Niza Padres at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Arcadia and five for Marcos de Niza.
Arcadia suffered their closest defeat since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Seton Catholic by a score of 50-47. Arcadia has not had much luck with Seton Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Marcos de Niza came up short against Mesquite on Friday and fell 61-52. While losing is never fun, Marcos de Niza can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Mesquite is ranked 19th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Dj Drew, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Steward, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Arcadia's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 10-11. As for Marcos de Niza, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Arcadia won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup last Wednesday, slipping by Marcos de Niza 62-61. Does Arcadia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marcos de Niza turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
