Williamsville South extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 12-4 in the process. They came out on top against the Hamburg Bulldogs by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-5 on Tuesday.
Not much got past Alyssa Budzinski, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Hamburg off the board. Budzinski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mac Marranca was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Budzinski, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Williamsville South hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.
As for Hamburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6. The match marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.
