Dutch Fork has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the River Bluff Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Dutch Fork came up short against Chapin and fell 58-45.
Despite their defeat, Dutch Fork saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Elgin Sessions, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Sessions continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Taylor, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, River Bluff's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Lexington 85-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for River Bluff in their matchups with Lexington: they've now lost five in a row.
Dutch Fork has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for River Bluff, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 11-7.
Dutch Fork came up short against River Bluff when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 59-52. Can Dutch Fork avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
