Dakota Brasher and Ryan Hurd provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Dewey. The connection was good for 68 yards, the longest such play in 3A District 5 this season.
Verdigris's J.d. Hanslovan recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Bulldoggers last week. Hanslovan scampered for 71 yards on the play and finished with 87 on the day as his team defeated Dewey.
Verdigris' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brasher threw for 157 and three touchdowns and Hurd had 140 yards receiving. On the ground Tanner Smith chipped in 131 yards. Chase Bryant helped Verdigris' passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.
Casey Holcomb provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Sperry defeated Blackwell. He completed six passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 126 yards. Holcomb's favorite target this week was Blake Teel, who caught three passes for 87 yards.
Berryhill's Zach Jackson and JUSTIN JACKSON have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jackson has thrown for 992 yards this season, while JACKSON has 35 catches for 463 yards. Smith from Dan Nickles' team leads the league in rushing with 1744 yards.
A big matchup in 3A District 5 this week will be when Metro Christian takes on the Chiefs. The Patriots are in third place, while Berryhill is in first place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Metro Christian takes on Pat Harper's team. Jared Mccoy's team has allowed 68 points this season, while the Chiefs have given up 101. The Patriots allowed 3 points last week as they beat Sequoyah.
The Cardinals took down Chris Revard's team 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brasher in the win.
