After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, St. John finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Pirates. The Fighting Herald's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

St. John saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Newsome, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Newsome is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Anthony Severino, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Perry, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John will challenge Lordstown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Fighting Herald are facing the Red Devils at the right time seeing as the Red Devils are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Perry, they will square off against Orange at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
