The Silver Creek Raptors's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past Greeley Central with points to spare, taking the game 66-50. Given Silver Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Greeley Central is ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Schmeeckle, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Storz, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Silver Creek pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Greeley Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Silver Creek will take on Longmont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Longmont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Greeley Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Centaurus at 5:30 p.m. Centaurus is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
