4A Special District 1 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Ridgeview made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,271 from 11,013. The advance stemmed from a 20-0 victory over The Dalles-Wahtonka last week.
Joe Saenz put up the best numbers through the air as Crook County lost to Redmond. He had a total of 13 completions for 91 yards. Saenz's favorite target this week was Marcus Greaves, who caught three passes for 45 yards.
Boomer Fleming was the best wideout in 4A Special District 1 this week as the Ravens topped the Eagle-Indians. Fleming racked up one reception for 46 yards. Jack Bowman helped Ridgeview's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.
Wesley Johns was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 110 yards as Ridgeview bested The Dalles-Wahtonka. Teammate Fleming added to the ground attack by rushing for 106 yards.
On the ground, Andy Codding's team's Fleming has rushed for 820 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Bowman. The Ridgeview star has 11 catches for 295 yards.
The top two teams in 4A Special District 1 will face off this week when first place Ridgeview takes on second place Crook County. The Ravens defeated Andy Codding's team last week, while the Cowboys lost to the Panthers.
There should be lots of points scored when Ridgeview and Crook County face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Ravens comes in having scored 266 this season, while Ryan Cochran's team has scored 210. Ridgeview scored 20 points last week as it bested the Eagle-Indians.
The Ravens featured an ironclad defense this week, and led the league in points allowed with 0.
