Stansbury has gone a perfect 6-0 against Hillcrest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Stansbury will welcome Hillcrest at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
If Stansbury beats Hillcrest with 16 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Stansbury beat Cottonwood on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-1. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Colts recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Bryn Leigh Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bonnie Barnett, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Maris Hess, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Stansbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillcrest). They put the hurt on Skyline with a sharp 25-7 victory on Thursday. With that win, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.
Nyomi Houston was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Terry, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI and two runs.
Hillcrest pushed their record up to 3-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Stansbury, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Hillcrest's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Stansbury has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Hillcrest, though, as they've been averaging 10.9 hits. Given Stansbury's sizable advantage in that area, Hillcrest will need to find a way to close that gap.
Stansbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. Will Stansbury repeat their success, or does Hillcrest has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
