The Round Rock Christian Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Live Oak Classical 84-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Round Rock Christian Academy has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Round Rock Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Wes Owens. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Owens has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played.
Live Oak Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Wilson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wes Snowden, who scored 19 points along with two steals.
Round Rock Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Live Oak Classical, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 24-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Round Rock Christian Academy will take on the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Live Oak Classical's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Celtics at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Holy Trinity Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1646th, while the Falcons are ranked 346th).
