McComb is 2-0 against Wingfield since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The McComb Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wingfield Falcons at 8:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McComb has eight straight wins, Wingfield has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
A well-balanced attack led McComb over Lanier in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that McComb blew Lanier out of the water with a 61-6 final score. The result was nothing new for McComb, who have now won six contests by 41 points or more so far this season.
Jamarcus Pittman was his usual excellent self, throwing for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Pittman is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Mccray, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
McComb's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Albert Sparkman and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Wingfield started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Richland. They fell to the Rangers 26-22.
McComb's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Wingfield has not been sharp this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight matches, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for McComb against Wingfield in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 49-14 victory. Does McComb have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wingfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
