The Mooresville Christian Eagles lost against the Colonial Christian Cougars back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mooresville Christian fell to the Cougars 29-25. Mooresville Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Mooresville Christian saw an underclassman step up: Bailey Hayden scored seven points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Korah Pitcock, who scored four points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colonial Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Minton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Stinna Grubb, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Mooresville Christian dropped their record down to 3-12 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Colonial Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mooresville Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th. As for Colonial Christian, they will be playing at home against the Cougar at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Community Baptist Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
