Basketball Recap: W D Mohammed Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Mouhamadou Mbodj and Ramadan Law

On Saturday, the W D Mohammed Caliphs were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 70-64 to the Lamar County Trojans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Caliphs still had to take the loss.

Ramadan Law and Mouhamadou Mbodj certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Law posted 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Mbodj dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 boards. The game was Mbodj's third in a row with at least 18 points.

W D Mohammed has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Lamar County, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

W D Mohammed has already played their next contest, a 71-54 loss against Southwest Atlanta Christian on the 28th. As for Lamar County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 92-67 defeat against Putnam County on the 28th.
