The Ocean View Christian Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 58-49 to Liberty Charter. If Ocean View Christian hoped to take revenge for the 58-56 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Liberty Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcos Heers, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Heers scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Duke Dengerink, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Ocean View Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Liberty Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Ocean View Christian will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Empire at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Empire will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Liberty Charter will take on Castle Park at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Castle Park is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
