Basketball Recap: Scott Sets Scoring Season-High Against Poca

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scott). They claimed a resounding 84-56 victory over the Poca Dots. The Skyhawks haven't had any issues with the Dots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Scott was led to victory by Rikki Bailey and Kelsey Harper. Bailey went 9-for-14 en route to 25 points in addition to five assists and four steals, while Harper posted 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave Harper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Tomblin, who scored 11 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Scott was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Scott's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Poca, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will face off against Grace Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Poca, they will challenge St. Marys at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
