Volleyball Game Preview: Christian Fellowship vs. Calvary Lutheran Lions

Christian Fellowship hasn't had much luck against Calvary Lutheran recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Christian Fellowship will challenge Calvary Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. Calvary Lutheran took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Christian Fellowship, who comes in off a win.

Calvary Lutheran will be up against a hot Christian Fellowship squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Christian Fellowship blew past Prairie Home 3-0 on Tuesday.

Christian Fellowship had a senior duo take command as Kaylee Garner had 22 digs and two aces and Georgia Cornelius had 12 digs and six aces. Garner is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Christian Fellowship was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Calvary Lutheran duked it out with Centralia on Saturday. The Lions fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1.

Christian Fellowship will need to focus on slowing down Bella Frates, one of several Calvary Lutheran players who made an impact when they last played. She had four digs and two aces.

Christian Fellowship's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Calvary Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Christian Fellowship has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Calvary Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
