San Juan (Blanding, Utah) had a big 27-point second quarter on Saturday, sealing a 40-0 victory over Richfield (Utah).
The Broncos scored on a defensive touchdown, a touchdown pass by Christensen to
Logan Meyer, a Meyer touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Justin Nielson in the quarter.
San Juan was up 34-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Christensen to
Bobby Bowring in the first quarter.
SJ expanded its lead to 40 points entering the fourth quarter. The Blanding school scored once in the quarter on a Christensen touchdown run.
Christensen was the top performer for the Broncos. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 27-7 win for San Juan.
The loss snapped the Wildcats' 2-game winning streak.
San Juan (5-0) will play a non-conference game against Kirtland Central next week, while Richfield (2-3) will take on Enterprise in a 2A - South game.
