The Neumann Celtics put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 66-18 victory over Golden Gate. The result was nothing new for Neumann, who have now won three games by 33 points or more so far this season.
Neumann had a senior duo take command as Sydney Martin scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and Sophia McCartney dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Martin has scored at least 25% of Neumann's points. Another player making a difference was Mylee Van de Wouw, who scored 4 points along with 8 steals.
Neumann's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Golden Gate, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Neumann will head out on the road to face off against Donahue Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Donahue Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Golden Gate, they will be playing at home against Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
