Daniel Martinez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Taos is 3-1 when Martinez posts three or more RBI, but 2-4 otherwise. Sonny Abeyta was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Martinez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Taos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayfield only managed six hits.
The win got Taos back to even at 5-5. As for Bayfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Taos Tigers take on Robertson Cardinals at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bayfield, they will face off against Grand County at 11:00 a.m. on April 5.
