Basketball Game Preview: Preuss UCSD Tritons vs. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras

The Preuss UCSD Tritons will venture away from home to face off against the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Preuss UCSD is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Preuss UCSD is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Ocean View Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Preuss UCSD blew Ocean View Christian out of the water with a 72-18 final score. The Tritons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Preuss UCSD found their leader in sophomore Preston Sterling, who posted 19 points. That's the most points Sterling has posted since back in November of 2024. Mahad Hassan was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Chula Vista Learning Community Charter made off with a 40-39 victory over Liberty Charter. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cobras.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Preuss UCSD, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Preuss UCSD didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 35-29 victory.
