Jay Kuhns of Johnson County Central ran for the longest rushing play in C2 District 2 this season against Palmyra last week. Kuhns ran for 70 yards on the play and finished with 112 on the day as his team defeated the Panthers.
Johnson County Central and Palmyra played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Johnson County Central eventually emerging with a 28-22 victory. Seth Laver ran for 175 yards in the win.
Dustin Buggi's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Grant Badertscher threw for three yards and Zac Borrenpohl had three yards receiving.
Johnson County Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunderbirds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kyle Laug has thrown for 36 yards and one touchdown this season, while Kuhns has one catches for 20 yards. Kuhns leads the league in rushing with 449 yards.
Two of the top units in C2 District 2 will face off this week when the Thunderbirds take on Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer. Johnson County Central's offense has recorded 78 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Titans have permitted only 204 on the year.
Southern took down Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer 37-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
