The Suncoast Chargers posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 52-13 victory over Royal Palm Beach at home. Given Suncoast's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Royal Palm Beach is ranked 432nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Suncoast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Philleah Bright, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bright posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Nyana Gordon, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Suncoast's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-7. As for Royal Palm Beach, they bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suncoast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wellington at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Wellington is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Royal Palm Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
