South County is 8-2 against Lutheran since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The South County Vipers will head out on the road to take on the Lutheran Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully South County is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Illinois (they are ranked 208th, while Lutheran is ranked 524th).
After a string of five wins, South County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamsville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South County in their matchups with Williamsville: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 67 points the game before, Lutheran were a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They were dealt a 67-15 defeat at the hands of Griggsville-Perry. Lutheran was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.
South County's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-16.
South County beat Lutheran 54-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will South County repeat their success, or does Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
