The Poly Parrots fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They secured a 52-48 W over Arleta on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Poly also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
JD Wyatt was his usual excellent self, scoring 39 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That makes it nine consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Poly's points. Cole Tingson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Poly pushed their record up to 7-13 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Arleta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.
Poly won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Polytechnic at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Arleta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Hollywood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
