Basketball Recap: Cicero Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Cicero Prep Academy lost against Fort Thomas back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cicero Prep Academy Centurions took a blow against the Fort Thomas Apaches, falling 53-19.

When it comes to explaining why Cicero Prep Academy lost, don't look at Catherine Johnson. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points.

Fort Thomas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamie Johnson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Benally, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points.

Cicero Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Fort Thomas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

Cicero Prep Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-39 win against Williams on the 13th. Fort Thomas has also already played their next contest (against El Capitan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
