The Aquinas Blugolds can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 62-18 win over Sparta. Winning may never get old, but Aquinas sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Leading Aquinas to victory were Samantha Davis and Madeline Murphy. Davis scored 21 points along with five rebounds, while Murphy scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 20 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Fernholz, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Aquinas' win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Sparta, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.
Aquinas will look to defend their home court on Monday against Assumption at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Aquinas' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches. As for Sparta, they will head out on the road to square off against Tomah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
