Spencer has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Northeast Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spencer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six matchups.
Spencer can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They really took it to Southwest for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-21 victory on the road. With Spencer ahead 32-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Naomi Berk was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaja Dyous, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Northeast scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Kendrick 66-23 at home. The victory was just what Northeast needed coming off of a 65-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Northeast can attribute much of their success to Indiasia Bell, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Kaitlyn Deshazer, who scored 25 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Deshazer has scored all season. Destinee Waller was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Spencer's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Northeast, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Spencer have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Northeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Spencer against the Raiders when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 66-39 victory. With Spencer ahead 36-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
