The Manning Monarchs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat East Clarendon 66-38 on the road. Given Manning's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while East Clarendon is ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Manning got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tavion Carter out in front who scored eight points along with nine rebounds. Dayvon Bannister was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds.
Manning's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for East Clarendon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Manning won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake City at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Lake City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. East Clarendon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
