Lakewood never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Anacortes Seahawks as they made off with  a  9-0 win. The Cougars not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since May 7, 2024 (when they won  11-1).

 Katie Krueger made a big impact no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Riley Pevny was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Lana Bauer also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
With the  victory, Lakewood broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Anacortes,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-7.
 Lakewood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  an  11-1  win against Sehome on the 19th. As for Anacortes, they have also already played their next match,  a  21-1  victory against Squalicum on the 19th.
