Trinity Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the LaGrange Grangers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Trinity Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Fayette County.
Trinity Christian might have lost, but man, Gabbie Grooms was a machine: she almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. Grooms is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Anderson, who scored two points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, LaGrange's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 62-31 loss at the hands of Troup County.
Trinity Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8. As for LaGrange, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Everything went Trinity Christian's way against LaGrange when the teams last played back in January as Trinity Christian made off with a 41-17 victory. Does Trinity Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will LaGrange turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
