In what's become a running theme this season, the Churchill County Greenwave gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past Dayton, posting a 52-8 win on the road. The victory was just what Churchill County needed coming off of a 77-23 defeat in their prior contest.
Churchill County found their leader in underclassman Jada Anastasio, who scored 21 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Anastasio has scored at least a third of Churchill County's points. Another player making a difference was Zoey Jarrett, who scored five points along with seven steals.
Churchill County's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Dayton, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-8.
Churchill County will head out on the road to challenge Elko at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Elko is ranked 48th, while Churchill County is ranked 21st). As for Dayton, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Fernley is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
