Volleyball Recap: Hayleigh Merrill Key Part of Team Effort in Red Eddies Win

Edward Little won the last time they faced Maranacook and things went their way on Thursday too. The Red Eddies blew past the Black Bears 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Edward Little was: they took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-9, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edward Little to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayleigh Merrill, who had six aces. Those six aces gave Merrill a new career-high.

Merrill wasn't the only good servers: Edward Little was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 36 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 15 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Edward Little's record now sits at 7-2. As for Maranacook, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Edward Little has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Nokomis on the 6th. As for Maranacook, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Orono on the 4th.
