Butler County has gone 8-2 against Todd County Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Butler County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Butler County was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Warren East, sneaking past 6-5.
The team relied heavily on Brielle Belcher, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Karrington Hunt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Todd County Central earned an 8-5 win over Collins on Saturday.
Olivia Weikel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Welborn, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Todd County Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Todd County Central's record now sits at 16-12. As for Butler County, they now have a winning record of 15-14.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Butler County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. However, it's not like Todd County Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Butler County got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Todd County Central by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
