After four games on the road, Jacobs is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Johnsburg Skyhawks on Saturday. Hopefully Jacobs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Jacobs lost to Prospect on the road by a decisive 58-41 margin. While losing is never fun, Jacobs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Prospect is ranked 78th).
Jacobs' loss came about despite a quality game from Treval Howard, who scored 19 points. The contest was Howard's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Max Fessler was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, Johnsburg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They managed a 72-67 victory over Grayslake North. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jacobs has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Johnsburg, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-7.
Jacobs beat Johnsburg 62-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Jacobs repeat their success, or does Johnsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
