Weston Graves was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gage Kypfer, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Florala made sure to put some runs up on the board against Paxton on Friday. Everything went Florala's way against Paxton as Florala made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Easton Walsh made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Florala is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise. Walsh was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Noah Bryan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs and four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Gage Davis was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Florala always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Laurel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Florala, they moved to 6-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Laurel Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Florala struggles in that department as they've averaged .344. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
