The Taylorsville Warriors will challenge the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Taylorsville sitting on seven straight wins and Maple Mountain on eight.
Taylorsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Granger 3-2.
While Taylorsville might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Granger scored at least eight points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 15-8.

Taylorsville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Radley Johnson, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Luke Stonehocker, who had 16 kills, nine digs, and six aces. Stonehocker has been hot, having posted eight or more kills the last eight times he's played.
They weren't the only good server: Taylorsville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Maple Mountain faced Spanish Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Eagles skirted past the Dons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted since March 18th.
Maple Mountain took Spanish Fork into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 15-7.
Maple Mountain pushed their record up to 25-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Taylorsville, their win bumped their record up to 14-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Taylorsville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Maple Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.3 aces.
