The Glenn Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Artesia 75-17. Glenn was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-5.
Zion Staples was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Artesia. Staples has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Cj Okeke was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Glenn has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Artesia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-8.
Glenn will head out on the road to face off against Eastside Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Artesia won't have much time to rest: their next match is against South Gate at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th.
