The Parkville Knights and the Urbana Hawks will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Parkville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Wednesday.
Even though Kenwood scored an imposing 59 points, Parkville still came out on top. Parkville walked away with a 67-59 win over Kenwood. Winning is a bit easier when you drain five more threes than your opponent, as Parkville did.
Parkville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chima Egeonu, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Alexander, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, Urbana pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Governor Thomas Johnson. While losing is never fun, Urbana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Governor Thomas Johnson is ranked 49th).
Despite the defeat, Urbana had strong showings from Thierry Patchou, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, and Kaden Swing, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Swing scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Caretti, who scored six points.
Parkville's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Urbana, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Parkville hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.8 points per game. It's a different story for Urbana, though, as they've been averaging only 59.7 points per game. The only thing between Parkville and another offensive beatdown is Urbana.
